Bowl
Archive, Museum: Ethnologisches Museum Berlin (E.M. Berlin) (Berlin, Germany) Period: Ica-Chincha und Chancay (1000-1475 AD) LIP 4c Tocapu. Bowl showing a cross with triangular rays (Georgskreuz)surrounded by circle and dot motifs. Crosses with triangular rows can be interpreted as stars as cab the circle and dot motifs. The first often serve as central motifs of Tocapus of the LIP Period. The zigzag lines very likely symbolize the edges of a (sky-)serpent representing the night sky. Schmidt 1929, 316. Clados Fig. 171.
