From Tiwanaku, dimensions unknown,type 12.1 according Kolata 2003, vol. 2., 73-74, Museo Nacional de Arqueologia, La Paz, Bolivia. Large drinking goblet with a bulbous upper rim depicting a modeled human face. No two portrait vessels are alike, and they are limited to Tiwanaku IV phase. Like Moche portrait vessels the portraiture emphasizes naturalistic representation and individualism. This vessel portrays a bearded male with a turban-like headdress decorated with a band of four-rayed stars that are separated by vertikal stripes. Fig 110 Clados after Ponce
